What I Did Right This Week (February 24th)

Well it’s Friday my fellow mommies, and that means it’s time for a new thing I’d like to do every week called “What I Did Right This Week.” Here we can celebrate the things we actually do RIGHT instead of feeling guilty for all the crap we feel like we get wrong all day every day (or is that just me?).

I’ll start: This week I took BB to the park not once or twice, but three times! WOW! OK, maybe that doesn’t seem like a big deal, but leaving the house is just soooo harrrrd sometimes. I have to put on presentable clothing, get BB into presentable clothing as well, make sure he’s fed and has a fresh diaper (forgot this once and regretted it), remember to bring extra diapers and snacks, wrangle him into his carseat, and then actually be outside. In public. I love the outdoors and I love people. But I’m just so much more comfortable in my own home. Sitting on the couch. Getting lost in Facebook. And it doesn’t help that I had surgery two and a half weeks ago and so I’m still a little tired and tender from that.

But my squirrely little toddler NEEDS to get the heck out of the house. Every. Single. Day. He is such a hyper, busy climber who needs to movemovemove and is absolutely fascinated by the outside. The wind, the sunshine, the grass, the dirt, the cars, the airplanes. He loves it all.

So I really try to take him to the park.

Even though he always goes down the big slide so I have to book it over to him to try to catch him. He doesn’t really need it but I need it because I’m more afraid of him going down the bid slide than he is.

And even though it’s boring to mostly just be sitting there watching him climb the stairs over and over without being able to do anything else because I have to keep my eye on him in case he bolts for the slide again, at least i don’t have to do much.

And honestly, I’m feeling much better after my surgery so I can sit on a park bench and walk around a little bit without it being a big deal.

So I took him to the park THREE TIMES.

Yay me!

And he loved it.

What did YOU do right this week?
